May 1st Labour Day - Long Weekend

Rotting slowly away at home, I accept the fact gruesome fact I have got no other option but to rot away om this long weekend. Well, it was really a personal choice at first, as I declined an invitation to a wedding dinner at Ipoh.

So at this home, I had enough of watching pDVD on the small computer screen, yet I fighting my chance to watch it on the tv outside with my parents. I tried watching some soapy korean drama (Lovers in Paris), and find it is not so interesting after looking at it for sometime.

Cleaning my room? Let me see, it look clean enough for now. Just tossed out numerous empty box not long ago and found some great stuffs to be auctioned off on Lelong. Maybe I should go compile the items to sell on Lelong, hmmm... but I am too lazy.

Most people might think that staying at home is the best choice to save $$. I would definately say that is not true anymore! Feeling hungry, I just spent RM26.80 ordering pizza from Domino's through the internet! Then I have paid RM22.00 for two movies tomorrow at GSC 1 Utama. Who say it is true you can spend less anymore??

The longer I sit here, the more I can spend. E.g. shopping away on www.Lelong.com.my and Ebay.com.my.

Ok ok ok ok, I think I have enough grumblings. Gonna go do something productive here, and look at the GMAT questions before the pizzaman comes by. Will write again later!

Then there was this girl call Ma Lei that become an instant hit in the most recent pagent. She was claimed to be Jiangsu No.1 Man-made beauty. Even though she did not win the All China No.1 award, but she managed to walk away with The Best Outlook Award.

Born in Jiangsu poverty slump, she was unlike what most chinese think of SuZhou girls - Beautiful, slender, attractive. Instead, she looked nothing more like typical ordinary China girl. But she wasn't ugly either, just normal.

Ma Lei was attracted to a poster inviting volunteer for an extreme makeover project, carried out by Dr. Xie Da Ming. She was hessitating at first, but went nonetheless after being encourage by her friend. Her determination to go under the knife, has seriously motivated Dr. Xie to give her the best of all.

She went through 10 surgery all together, from rhinoplasty, liposuction, creating double eye lid. It was the hardest part of the whole process, being in pain constantly. Even her parents feel the pain too seeing her limping back home after the liposuction therapy.

Her parents were very upset that their own daughter has turn out to be so rebelious. Such makeover is no common in small places where she grown up at. Even after her parents had forgave her, the local neighbourhood are still throwing her with dirty looks each time she walk pass them. It is such bad mouthing from neighbour that make her feel the worst, and feel indebted to her parents.

But for now, she has something more important to do upon gaining her new found beauty. Ma Lei is seriously looking into continuing her studies again. She said "Beauty is only skin deep, and I must change this by improving my inner beauty as well."

Excellent poems found on toilet doors and walls..........

Excellent poems by not so famous Excellent poems by not so famous poets... found on toilet doors and walls..........

A budding poet trying his best...

Here I lie in stinky vapor,
Because some bastard stole the toilet paper,
Shall I lie, or shall I linger,
Or shall I be forced to use my finger.

Before he graduated to be a poet, he wrote this...

    Here I sit
    Broken hearted
    Tried to shit
    But only farted

Someone who had a different experience wrote,

    You're lucky
    You had your chance
    I tried to fart,
    And shit my pants!

Perhaps it's true that people find inspiration in
    toilets.

    I came here
    To shit and stink,
    But all I do
    Is sit and think.

There are also people who come in for a different
    purpose...

Some come here to sit and think,
Some come here to shit and stink,
    But I come

    here to scratch my balls,
And read the bullshit on the walls...

Toilets walls also double as job advertisement
    space.......

    (written high upon the wall)

Bakerzin, 1 Utama - I want my strawberry shortcake!

Actually, I didn't mean to eat the strawberry shortcake at the first place. Was suppose to check something up from the Columbia Clothing store in 1 Utama for someone. Somehow the clothstore didn't last too long, and have closed for sometime.

Since I am not sure what to do next, I decided to hang around for a bit. Walk walk walk, I came to Bakerzin. Alas, the strawberry shortcake was just in front of me in the display counter. Sigh... I decided to have it, and told myself it is a treat as I have not been out frequently these days.

I ordered a nice hot lavender tea (RM8 per pot), together with my strawberry shortcake (RM8.90). The combination is heavenly! I am not a cake person in general, but somehow I just can't seemed to get away from having the cake all to myself!

There are loads of puddings, creme brulee, which they serve in tapas style as well. Have not give it a try yet. Perhaps next time I guess, as they look just as good from the menu.

Also tried was the mushroom soup (RM10.90). Served granished with bacon strips. Tad bit salty for today. Somehow it taste better when ate together with that loaf of warm wholemean bread that came together.

Try their maincourse as well, there are some quite interesting selections!

    A Secret Garden in Penang

This place probably is much known to many Penangnites (I think that is what they called themselves!). But most people from KL doesn't really give much thoughts about visiting this secret place.

    The Penang Aquarium
Run by the Fishery Research Institute

Me on the other hand, decided to bring Chui Li to this piece of undiscovered Jewel. I always feel upset when I was being pushed away when going to those big commercial aquarium. I mean, you will never get enough time for yourself to look at those fishes because the flow within the exhibition area doesn't allow that!

Hey, you are not suppose to disturb the turtle like this! :-)

The Penang Akuarium is a very small one, by comparison to those around the SEA region (namely the Singapore Under waterworld and the Langkawi Underworld. Besides, what do you really expect to get for RM5 entrance fee only? Not a whole lot, but good enough for a more upclose and personal experience mostly.

    V for Vendetta

I am very glad that I made an effort to watch this show. It has been shown for more than 3 weeks now, but so far I had a feeling that it didn't create much excitement. That sort of excitement, just like everyone now is rushing to watch Ice Age 2.

So, I was very glad that I get to watch "this kind" of movie. A bit of a darker side, hero's from a terrible past rise from the fire.

We don't get to see Hugo Weaving's real face as "V", but it doesn't matter. His remarkable acting, that deep confident voice has capture every bit of my attention. In fact, the way he confess his love to Evey, I think he stole my heart away. So I think I shall now list him as one of my all time favorite actor, alongside with Sean Connery, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hanks, Michael Caine and Johnny Depp.

Go watch it if you haven't!

It is Ching Beng Prayer time again - Misc. ramblings

Gosh, what a hot day this morning. And since they've clearer up all the grass for once in 20 years, then I've my favorite pair of Nike sneaker all stained with mud and soil! Grrr...

Call me strange, but I sort of like to hear the kind of conversation my relatives have during sessions like this (e.g. praying to the dead). They were comparing to see who else has a twin grave like us. Well, our grave is a twin grave, because my grandmother decided that she wants to be buried next to my dead grandfather in future. Therefore, now there is this empty lot next to the dead grandfather, waiting for my grandmother to get in one day in the future. (Spooky thoughts, weird chinese culture).

Yes, strange it is. But in the original chinese culture, it is a great honour to the parents if their children has planned for the elder's death in advance. This include buying a very good fengsui piece of land waiting for them to crawl in when they are dead. Which also explains, in olden days, it is not unusual to see a good piece of coffin lying at the storeroom in family of rich household!

Anyways, then these relatives started talking about whether married couple should be buried at a different location. And grandmother was saying that if they often quarrel before that, then they should never be burried together. If the children do that for their own conviniences, they will make the dead parent go on quarreling when arrive at hell. Then the children will all have very bad bad karma later on, for next next next next generation, so on and on...

Hmmm... you can never debate on things like this with your grandmother.

    Some silly thoughts!
